COMPOSER’S THOUGHTS – Wind of Change

Song Title: Homecoming:

This song, took me to a movie scene of a young Military couple. The scene switches between him out in the field and her back home, showing them talking on the phone late at night. During one of those phone conversations, he breaks the news that he’s coming home. The movie Frame then moves to an exciting scene showing her cleaning and getting the house ready, then it jumps to her shopping at the store getting things ready for his Homecoming. The final scene then moves to her at the airport greeting him with open arms as he comes down the escalator.

Song Title: Awakening:

I pictured this as a joyous upbeat feel good song. Picture the feel good moment and the exciting anticipation in a scene. When you have that awakening moment. The light bulb goes off in your head and you now get it and it all make sense and things start coming together.

Song Title: The Arrival:

Envisioned capturing a special personal touching moment scene of a couple’s life. I pictured an aerial view of a young couple arriving to the hospital getting ready to deliver their new arrival. Just a slow motion aerial scene, kind of like when someone says they have had an out of body experience and could see the doctors working on them in the operating room. That type of view throughout the whole song capturing that special moment. From arriving at Hospital, getting put on a hospital bed, the labor process to delivering the baby. The ending of the song shows the baby being born and the doctor handing the new arrival into the mother arms as she’s smiling and weeping with Joy.

Song Title: Remember When:

As I was composing this song, it took me to a scene of some old friends that had not seen each other in years sitting in a booth at a restaurant reminiscing and remembering their childhood days. As they start sharing their story, the scene moves and re-lives that childhood memory. Toward the end of the song, the scene comes back to them sitting at the booth.

Song Title: Winds of Change: (This is the Title Track for this Album.)

When I composed the intro, for some reason it kept taking me to a Garth Brooks Song “Thunder Rolls”. I was hearing Thunder and lightning in this song kind of like Garths song. A Stormy type feeling. The scene I was picturing was, someone going through life and not realizing there was a storm brewing that was about to hit them head on and change their whole course of direction. For example, my daughter married several years ago. She had dreams and plans of their future together. Two years into their marriage she found out that her husband was cheating on her with another woman. This totally broke and devastated her and changed her whole course in life. Sometimes we just don’t know there’s a storm brewing on the horizon.

Song Title: Someday:

Nice warm touching ballad, giving hope that Someday You will accomplish your dreams and desires that Lord has put in your heart.

Song Title: Windy Shadows:

This is one of my older songs I composed years ago. Figured I would add it to this album. Do not have a particular movie scene for this. Just pictured shadow of trees swaying back and forth.

Song Title: Willow

This is song expressing hope. My daughter went through a difficult time in her life several years ago. During that time, she asked for a dog to be able to distract her from the pain and provide comfort during that period.  She bought a beautiful miniature Schnauzer and named it Willow. I asked her how did you come up with that name.  She said she had read the following

“ Willow tree was a Symbol of Adaptability and Survival. The willow tree gives us hope, a sense of belonging, and safety. Furthermore, the ability to let go of the pain and suffering to grow new, strong and bold. The image of the willow tree is our path to stability, hope, and healing”

When my daughter heard this Song and heard the bridge, she said she could picture the Willow Tree Swaying in the Storm and how it made it through the Storm and came out stronger on the other side.

Song Title: Wise Men’s Journey

When I was composing this song, It took me to a scene of the Wise Men’s/ MAGI making their Journey to Bethlehem as they followed the star.

The Scene starts as the wise men gather to discuss the prophecies of the Messiah as they Gaze at the Bright Bethlehem Star in the night sky. Then it moves to different scenes throughout the song of the Wise men journey to Bethlehem.

Shows them traveling though the dessert during the day and at night, Sitting around a fire as they bed down for the night, then shows them entering different towns as they make their way, then back to traveling at night, Meeting with King Herod and telling him of the birth of the King of Israel, the messiah.

At the 3:06 minute mark of the track is when the Wise Men finally arrive and enter into the Town of Bethlehem, the song builds as they make their way through the streets of Betlehem making their way to the Manger, The song climaxes at the very end when the Magi arrive where baby Jesus is and bow down and worship the King.

Song Title: Take Flight:

Pictured this song as a lively upbeat grooving song. Envisioned this as being one that the string section of an Orchestra would look forward playing any chance they could. This is a type of song that allows them to cut loose and just have fun.
